Athletics Day 2025: A Celebration of Spirit and Strength

It was a bright, sun-filled day as NGHS proudly hosted its 2025 Athletics Day. The school buzzed with excitement, filled with enthusiastic cheers and powerful war cries echoing across the fields.

Athletes gave it their all, pushing past limits and achieving personal bests. Friends lined the sidelines, offering unwavering support and encouragement to one another. One of the day’s standout moments was the much-anticipated Tug o’ War between the Executive Learners and NGHS Staff. In a thrilling show of strength and unity, the learners triumphed, decisively defeating the staff team. Congratulations to all the winners! A special shoutout goes to Banks House, crowned the 2025 Inter-House Champions. With this victory, Banks continues its winning streak, having claimed the title every year since 2022.

We extend heartfelt thanks to our guest of honour, Ms Ngubane – a proud NGHS alumna and current parent – for gracing the event. Gratitude also goes to Mr Trotter, Mrs Fynn, and their team for their behind-the-scenes work in setting up the event, and to Ms Fernandes and Ms Dube for ensuring everything ran seamlessly on the day.
