Book Character Dress Up Day

Northlands Girls’ High School was alive with colour and imagination as staff and learners stepped into the shoes of their favourite literary characters for the much-anticipated annual Book Character Day. This cherished tradition not only brings stories to life but also serves as a fundraiser in support of the NGHS library.
Excitement filled the air as the characters took to the stage for a lively parade, where creativity was celebrated and book-themed prizes awaited those with the most outstanding costumes. From the timeless elegance of Dorian Gray and Daisy Buchanan to the mischievous flair of Cruella De Ville and the regal presence of the Queen of Hearts, the day was a showcase of literature’s most iconic figures. A highlight was the Life Sciences Department, who delighted the audience by appearing as Snow White, her Prince Charming, and the seven dwarves.
Laughter, applause, and admiration flowed throughout the event, making it not only a celebration of books but also of friendships, imagination, and the joy of storytelling.
