Special Assembly – Grade 12 isiZulu Assembly

The Northlands Girls’ High School grade 12 isiZulu learners hosted an assembly explaining the significance of umhlanga (the traditional Zulu Reed Dance). They spoke about the events that take place in the palace during the annual reed dance. The learners told the story about how the king gets an opportunity to choose one maiden to make one of his wives. The learners dressed in traditional clothing and sang Zulu songs about the pride and beauty of the Zulu culture. NGHS Staff dressed up to be part of the special event.
