Founders’ Day 2025

Northlands Girls’ High School marked its Founders’ Day with a special assembly attended by distinguished guests, staff, learners, parents, and members of the Old Girls’ Alumni. The highlight of the event was an inspiring address by Guest Speaker Dr Merissa Chetty, an NGHS alumna from the Class of 2017, who captivated the audience with insightful advice and meaningful reflections.
Long Service Awards were presented in recognition of the dedication and commitment of several staff members. Honoured for five years of service were Mrs Govinsamy, Ms Maharaj, Ms Powell, Mrs van der Merwe, and Mrs van Dyk. Celebrating a decade of service were Mrs Archary, Mrs Rowe, and Mrs Pillay. A special tribute was paid to Twoboys Msomi, who was recognised for an outstanding 35 years of loyal service to NGHS. A special award went to Mrs Fouche in recognition of “service above self”.
The school extends its heartfelt gratitude to all award recipients for their unwavering dedication and contributions to the NGHS community.
It was also a joy to welcome back several Old Girls who relished the opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater and revisit cherished memories. The day was a resounding success, marking 76 proud years of Excellence in Education.
