NGHS Alumna – From NGHS to Iowa State University

Since matriculating from Northlands Girls’ High School in 2020, Kagemulo Tracy Mhlongo has continued to pursue her passion for science and agriculture. She went on to study at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), where she completed her undergraduate degree in Agricultural Plant Pathology, developing an interest in plant science and plant virology.
She has now been awarded the prestigious Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship, which will take her to the United States to pursue her Master of Science in Agriculture Plant Pathology degree at Iowa State University of Science and Technology. Her research will focus on plant virology, with the goal of contributing to agricultural research and food security in South Africa.
